Privacy Policy

Effective August 5, 2026

This policy explains what Present Index collects, how that information is used, and what happens to data submitted for review and potential purchase.

The program is designed around licensing approved contribution data. Read this policy before submitting. If you are not comfortable with that use, do not participate.

01

What we collect

  • Contact and profile information: first name, last name, email address, age range, ZIP or postal code, and confirmation that you are at least 18.
  • AI activity summary: the response you paste after running the Present Index prompt, including any model name, conversation counts, topic summaries, and conversation-length information available to your AI assistant.
  • Referral and campaign information: referral codes, campaign identifiers, UTM parameters, landing pages, and attribution events.
  • Technical and analytics information: browser and device information, IP-derived request information, pages viewed, and interactions measured through our hosting, security, and Vercel Analytics services.
  • Payment or tax information may be collected later if needed to issue a payment or comply with law. The current submission form does not collect financial-account details.

02

How we use information

  • Receive, review, verify, and approve or reject submissions.
  • Detect duplicate submissions, abuse, and fraud.
  • Communicate about review status, launch timing, referrals, and payment.
  • Operate referral and campaign attribution.
  • Measure site performance and improve the program.
  • De-identify, package, license, and deliver approved contribution data.
  • Meet legal, accounting, tax, and security obligations.

03

What happens to approved data

Present Index may license approved contribution data to AI developers, researchers, and organizations building, evaluating, or studying AI systems.

Before licensing, we remove direct profile identifiers such as your name and email address and take reasonable steps to reduce identifying details. We may include generalized attributes, such as an age range or broad location, when useful for research or evaluation.

Free-form text can be identifying even after direct identifiers are removed. If a response contains information you would not want a buyer to read, do not submit it. We require buyers to keep licensed data in de-identified form and prohibit attempts to re-identify or contact contributors.

A buyer may use licensed data for AI research, development, training, testing, evaluation, or related commercial purposes. Once data has been incorporated into a trained model, that model may not be capable of being untrained or recalled.

04

Information about other people

AI conversations and summaries may mention coworkers, family members, clients, or other people. Do not submit information about another person that you do not have the right to share. If the generated response includes such information and cannot be submitted unedited, do not submit the response.

05

When we share information

  • Data buyers receive approved, de-identified contribution data. They do not receive profile contact information as part of the licensed dataset.
  • Service providers may process information for hosting, databases, analytics, security, communications, payment, or fraud prevention only to provide those services.
  • We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the program, participants, or the public.
  • Information may transfer with the program if its ownership or operation changes, subject to this policy until it is lawfully updated.

06

Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to opt out of certain sales or sharing. Present Index will evaluate verified requests under applicable law.

The program involves a sale or license of data that you initiate. Withdrawing before approval stops the contribution from being licensed. After data is approved, paid, and licensed, deletion may not reverse uses already completed or remove information from a model already trained.

To make a privacy request, use the contact channel included in communications you receive from Present Index. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

07

Retention

We retain submission and profile information for as long as reasonably necessary to review contributions, operate referrals, prevent fraud, communicate with participants, meet recordkeeping obligations, and support licensed datasets. Retention periods vary by the type of information and legal requirements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless continued retention is required by law or needed to protect the program.

08

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls and encrypted network connections. No service can guarantee perfect security. Submit only information you are comfortable having stored and, if approved, licensed in de-identified form.

09

Cookies and analytics

We use first-party cookies or similar storage to preserve referral and campaign attribution. We also use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and performance. Browser settings can limit cookies, but doing so may prevent referral credit or other site features from working correctly.

10

Age requirement

Present Index is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly accept submissions from anyone under 18. If we learn that a submission came from a minor, we will delete it and void any associated eligibility.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the program changes. The page will show the effective date of the current version. Material changes affecting previously submitted data will be communicated when required by law and will not be applied retroactively where renewed consent is required.
